ALLEN, Texas — The city of Allen is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Rodolfo Rodriguez Sr., 52, of Garland, who was tragically killed in a crash involving a sedan and an 18-wheeler early Sunday morning, June 29, 2025.
The fatal accident occurred just before 7:00 a.m. along U.S. Highway 75 near Bethany Drive, a typically busy stretch of road that turned somber as emergency crews arrived to a devastating scene. According to the Allen Police Department, Rodriguez was driving a white Chevrolet Malibu when his vehicle veered from its lane and collided with the rear of a stationary 18-wheeler parked on the shoulder with its hazard lights activated.
First responders from the Allen Police and Fire Departments arrived to find Mr. Rodriguez unresponsive and trapped inside the heavily damaged vehicle. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger riding with Rodriguez survived and was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Their identity and condition have not been released.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was unharmed and is cooperating fully with investigators. At this time, no charges have been filed, and the cause of the crash remains under active investigation.
