SIBLEY COUNTY, MN — Authorities have located a vehicle believed to belong to Vance Boelter, the suspect in the targeted shootings of Minnesota lawmakers Melissa Hortman and John Hoffman. The vehicle was found near the intersection of Minnesota Highway 25 and 301st Avenue in Faxon Township, approximately 60 miles southwest of the shooting sites. A discarded cowboy hat was also discovered at the scene, raising concerns about the suspect’s whereabouts.

The shootings occurred early Saturday morning, with Rep. Hortman and her husband fatally shot at their home in Brooklyn Park, and Sen. Hoffman and his wife wounded at their residence in Champlin. Governor Tim Walz described the attacks as politically motivated.

Boelter, 57, is considered armed and dangerous. The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to his arrest and conviction. Residents in Sibley County have been urged to lock their doors and secure their vehicles as law enforcement continues the search.
