Cridersville, OH — The Cridersville and Auglaize County communities are mourning the tragic and untimely death of Ayden Hadding, 21, who was fatally injured in an industrial accident on the morning of Monday, July 7, 2025, at Kard Welding in Minster, Ohio.

According to a report from the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office, Ayden was in the process of hooking up a large bridge beam for movement—either through a sandblaster or between machines—when the beam unexpectedly shifted and fell on him just before 7 a.m. Despite immediate efforts by coworkers to reach and assist him, the injuries were fatal, and Ayden was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Sudden Loss in a Close-Knit Community

Ayden’s passing has left family, friends, and coworkers devastated. Known for his quiet determination and hardworking nature, Ayden was a valued employee at Kard Welding and a respected young man throughout the Cridersville area. He was just beginning to build a life of purpose and responsibility, and his sudden loss has left an irreplaceable void.

“He showed up every day with a can-do attitude,” a coworker shared. “He was dependable, thoughtful, and took pride in his work. Everyone liked Ayden. This is just heartbreaking.”

An Accident That Stunned a Workplace

Witnesses told investigators that the loud operation of nearby machinery may have masked the noise of the beam shifting, preventing an immediate response. Though workers reached him within moments, it was tragically too late.

The Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate, interviewing company owners and staff to determine the full circumstances surrounding the accident. Workplace safety authorities have also been notified as part of standard protocol.

Ayden will be remembered for far more than the tragic way his life ended. He was a beloved son, friend, and teammate—a young man with a kind soul and a strong sense of purpose. Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time with friends, helping family with hands-on projects, and taking pride in learning new skills.

Those who knew him best recall a generous spirit, someone who was always willing to lend a hand, stay late to finish a task, or offer a laugh in tough times.

In the days ahead, Ayden’s family will release details regarding funeral services and memorial arrangements. Community members have already begun sharing condolences and offering support to the Hadding family in their time of profound grief.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ayden’s memory to a local vocational training program, or to organizations promoting workplace safety and young trades education—causes close to his heart.
