BARDSTOWN, Ky. — Heartbreak has gripped the Bardstown community following the tragic death of 36-year-old Michael David Stegall, who was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Thursday morning, July 24, 2025, near the historic Old Courthouse in downtown Bardstown.

According to Bardstown Police, officers responded to reports of a crash shortly after 2:00 a.m. at the intersection of Court Square and East Stephen Foster Avenue. Investigators say the vehicle veered off the roadway before striking a fixed object. When emergency crews arrived, Michael was found with severe injuries. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
