LITHONIA, GA —The Lithonia community is grieving as beloved resident Cordillia Scott — affectionately known as Lavern — nears the end of her life following a sudden and devastating health crisis. Surrounded by family and loved ones, Lavern is currently on life support, with her family facing the heartbreaking decision to let her go.

Known for her warm heart, radiant spirit, and unmatched generosity, Lavern was a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew her. Her home was a sanctuary of comfort and joy, filled with the aroma of her famous home-cooked meals and the laughter inspired by her spontaneous and joyful rapping — a hidden talent she shared with those lucky enough to hear it.

“She could make anyone feel like family,” said one close friend. “Her kitchen table was always open, and her heart even more so.”
