NEWTON, ILLINOIS — The community of Newton is grieving the passing of Brandon Scott “Beef” Frichtl, age 35, who died on Thursday evening, July 24, 2025, at 6:25 PM. Brandon’s sudden loss has left family, friends, and loved ones heartbroken as they prepare to honor his life and legacy.
Services to remember Brandon will begin with a prayer service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton. He will be laid to rest at Old Saint Peter Cemetery, located northeast of Newton.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 29, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the church, with an additional visitation on Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Saint Thomas School, honoring Brandon’s memory and his connection to the community. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Meyer Funeral Home in Newton.
Brandon, affectionately known as “Beef,” was deeply loved by those who knew him. His passing is an immeasurable loss, and he will be remembered for his warm spirit and the joy he brought to the lives of so many.
