Tragedy in Sheboygan Falls Wisconsin: Suspect in Custody After Double Shooting Near St. Mary’s Church

SHEBOYGAN FALLS, WI — A quiet Wednesday morning turned into a nightmare in Sheboygan Falls after a double shooting near St. Mary’s Church prompted a massive police response and a multi-county pursuit. Authorities have confirmed that at least one suspect is in custody, but the community remains shaken as details continue to unfold.

According to Sheboygan Falls Police Chief, the incident began near the church, prompting an immediate lockdown of the surrounding area. WIS 32 is currently shut down from Park Street to School Street, as police continue their investigation.

Two victims were transported to nearby hospitals, with emergency crews calling in Flight for Life for at least one of the wounded. The current condition of the victims has not been released, leaving families and neighbors anxiously awaiting news.

What began as a violent act in a small city soon escalated into a high-speed chase, stretching as far south as Whitefish Bay in Milwaukee County. Authorities confirm the chase moved along I-43, involving both a vehicle pursuit and a foot chase. A crash was also reported near the Silver Spring off-ramp, adding to the chaos.

The identity of the suspect in custody has not yet been released, nor has the possible motive behind the shooting. The connection between the suspect and the victims remains under investigation.

“This is a heartbreaking day for Sheboygan Falls,” said one resident who lives near the church. “We’re a small, close-knit town. You never think something like this will happen on your street.”

Police are urging the public to avoid the area and remain patient as they continue to secure the scene and gather evidence. Authorities from multiple jurisdictions are assisting, including North Shore Fire and Rescue and the Wisconsin State Patrol.

For now, a community waits — grieving, scared, and hoping for the recovery of the victims.

This is a developing story. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
